Excellent enthusiastic and knowledgable guide.

We spent 2.5 days in the Atacama desert with Alex (Alexalltracks). In only a short time, she was able to show us the highlights of this amazing region from Moon Valley to rock carvings, the salt lakes and the geothermal El Tatio geysers. Alex organised an excellent driver (Olivia) and car for the tour, provided snacks and meals as we needed for our programme. The Atacama is Alex's adopted home, as she's actually from another region of Chile, but she clearly loves living here and sharing it with visitors. She's keen to make sure that visitors respect the environment and don't disturb wildlife but also knows the best places and times to see flamingos, vicunyas, llamas and lots of birds. I can throughly recommend Alex as a guide and, although we made our own hotel bookings at one of the luxury hotels in San Pedro de Atacama, I would also trust her to find accommodation. She is very well known around the town and by all the wardens in the National Park.

Atacama: an amazing place made better with our guide

Reviewed December 14, 2017

My family and our two friends were on a two-week travel in Chile, with Atacama as the highlight.  We always travel with a private guide, and this time was no different. After researching some sites, we found Alex, and I must say, this was the best decision made for our travel here. She was prompt in her responses to my queries, and her costing was good, and her time with us was full of information. Alex was perky, always smiling, and punctual. She knew her stuff, and prepared our itinerary to ensure we were properly acclimatised to the high altitudes of Atacama. We ate in a lovely restaurant in Socaire, simple and hearty food, and on our trip to the Tatio Geysers, she and our driver Braulio prepared for us the best breakfast ever! Nothing beats fresh toast, hot coffee, scrambled eggs etc, after a walk in the cold, but so amazing geysers. Our stay in Atacama was definitely made even better with Alex — you cannot go wrong with her taking you through her environment. Thank you, Alex!
