Abba was an amazing guide. He has all the connections to make anything possible that you want to do in Mali and other countries too. He even got me a meeting with the head of Tourism in Mali government official. Which has a lot of power in that country as they want tourists. As we discussed with him where it was safe to go. I felt perfectly safe traveling alone with Abba the whole time. He will not take you any where that is not safe. I wanted to see an ancient mud mosque and he found one for me to see not far away that was built in 662. And then found the people to open it up to get to see inside too. I wanted to see the old ways of life, many are still living today, and he showed me that in small villages, we saw the old palace of the Bambara Kingdom inside shown to us by the chiefs son. He knows the kings, the chiefs, the amazing secret places to see that no other tourists will get to see. He knew the best place to buy any souvenir and bargained for me so I always got the best price. I saw Ségou, Mali's former colonial capital, traditional Sudanese style & colonial architecture. Having lunch on a patio overlooking the river, of fish right out of The Niger River, 3rd longest river in Africa, and a beautiful sunset over the water. He knows the traditional artisans. I saw how mud clothing was made. We witnessed at sunsets hundreds of bats coming awake around the trees by the waterfront. Amazing to see so many. I saw the Mali National Museum showing how much history this great country has. I saw all this and so much more he found a way to pack it into the short time I had. I wanted a quiet room and he found that in the busy city of Bamako, with so many motorbikes that is difficult to find. A great one on one tour making a really good long-lasting impression of his country with so much knowledge. Thank you for all your hard work.
