My son and I decided to visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. When we travel to a location, in addition to experiencing the major sites, we like to understand and connect with the local culture. Ronny planned an incredible day for us. Ronny was exactly on time when he picked us up from our Cusco hotel. He's got a great welcoming personality and we connected immediately. It was raining that morning, so Ronny changed the order of our tour and we started with the Pisac market and community. As we walked through the market, Ronny explained the various items and how they were made. He also pointed out the huge number of vegetables and fruits. He told us how people lived in the surrounding communities and tied that back to Inka and pre-Inka times. Being a local himself, he is very knowledgeable and a fascinating person. The rain subsided after our market visit and lunch at a restaurant where we tried some local dishes. We continued to hike the Pisac ruins and Saksaywaman - both amazing well-preserved Inka sites. In between, Ronny took us to a llama farm to help us better understand the local animals and how they are an integral part of daily life in the Andes. Our day with Ronny was truly amazing. The time flew by. Ronny is a very caring and passionate guide who is very proud to share the history and culture of the Sacred Valley. I highly recommend him!
