Our group of 4 was blessed to have found Percy and his company. He went 'above and beyond' in so many ways! First, he truly provided in-depth historical and cultural information on our tours. It is evident that he loves to share his country's history and culture with others! Secondly, he was also mindful and considerate of our well-being. Going from Florida's elevation of 7 ft. above sea level to 14,000 ft. can be daunting --no amount of training in FL would adequately prepare folks for aerobic step climbing at Andes mountain level. Percy made sure that we stayed well with frequent stops for rest and water -- he consistently monitored us to make sure we were physically okay while providing encouragement to 'continue on' at our own pace because the exploration of the archeological site was well worth it. He helped reassure us and provided for our safety during a strike/demonstration by farmers in the SV. Mario, our assigned driver, left Cusco 7 hours before our train would arrive to make sure that he was there to greet us at the station. Mario then expertly navigated us through barricades and back roads so that we did make it to Cusco and were not stranded as others were in Ollanta. Percy then followed-up with us, personally, at our Cusco hotel that evening. Yet, another example of going "above and beyond" was in helping one of us obtain a duplicate TAM card... don't ever lose yours, it's complicated to navigate the replacement/duplicate process. The wonderful adventure we had in Peru is largely attributed to Percy and his staff. Percy's caring, honest, fun-filled and open interactions with us coupled with his ability and willingness to share not just his intimate knowledge of the history and culture of this country but also his perspective on his heritage made this trip one of the most memorable and enjoyable that I have ever taken.
