I was very fortunate to have been given an introduction to Sirin who  I thank you very much for making my time in North Cyprus interesting and for showing me much of the country including the Karpas Peninsular over two days when I was there in May 2014. Next time I will climb all the way to Buffavento Castle but start in the morning and take a picnic lunch!. The mountains along the north are wonderful with the castles perched on peaks and blending in with the mountain terrain. I enjoyed all thatI saw. The donkeys add interest and a bit of fun. I showed my grandchildren a photo of the small sand castle I built for them on Turtle Beach; almost 8yr old James did not give the mark of approval until he had questioned me on the quality of the sand!. I spent Saturday after-noon in north Nicosia; should have gone over earlier as I missed a couple of museums but was happy with what I had time to see. The buildings of and around the Selima Mosque are wonderful.  In Atthe Buyuik Han I was able to find the linen material used for the Lefkaraembroidery/lace so bought a length. Interesting how north and south Nicosia differ. The more historical and interesting buildings are probably in the northexcept for St John’s Cathedral with is incredible inside.. I stayed inin south Nicosia  and crossed over into the north without any hassel. Sirin was waiting for me on the two days I had engaged her as my guide. Should I visit north Cyprus againg, I hope Sirin is available for guiding .

North Cyprus has some beautiful scenary as well as interesting antiquities..
