While serving as our local Normandy tour guide for 5 days, Igor Rosen was a professional and courteous tour guide. He was punctual and had an extensive knowledge of the visited regions. With videos and photos available as additional aides for learning about the sites, we were well informed and prepared to see our selected destinations.

He arranged transfers for us from Paris-Bayeux-Paris in a timely manner, allowing us to be stress free and enjoy our vacation. On our way from Paris to Bayeux, we stopped in Rouen for a fantastic tour of the city, where we explored the clock tower, had lunch at a local restaurant, and stopped for cheese and mustard at the farmers market and desserts at the specialty Macaroon shop.

We spent the next day exploring the D-day beaches. We started at Saint Mere Eglise and visited the Paratroopers Museum. We then went to Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Saint Marie du Mont where we stopped at the Major Richard Winters Memorial. In between these sites, we stopped for lunch at an exquisite French restaurant near Omaha Beach that welcomed Igor and us graciously. We met a 101st airborne veteran and his wife, who were there visiting with 3,500 Boy Scouts, teaching them our past! We spent an extensive amount of time at Point Du Hoc memorial, where Igor thoroughly detailed the events of the past to us. We ended the day by capturing a moment of solitude at the American Cemetery, where we attended the flag ceremony and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.

We took a lovely drive the following day through the French countryside to Camembert, the town famous for making fantastic cheese! We toured a Camembert making factory and its museum. At the end, we tasted delicious cheese with apple cider and water as refreshments. We had lunch at a darling, fresh farm to produce restaurant in a charming town. For a true Normandy experience, we then traveled to a Calvados distillery, where we had a private tour and tasting. The best part of this tour was that we made our own batch of Calvados and bottled it. Each bottle was wax sealed by us with its own private label!

On our last tour, we traveled to Mont St Michel, where it was cold and windy. We stopped for a coffee in a lovely café before taking the steps to the top of the Abbey. We had an incredible tour of each of the rooms and topped off the tour with Palm Sunday Mass, led by a spectacular choir and clergy. This location was one of the highlights of our tour, and we enjoyed another delicious lunch with fantastic food and amazing views at the base of the Abbey.

We highly recommend Igor as your tour guide!
