Madurai to Kodaikanal
On arrival enjoy a scenic drive gazing at the mountains to Kodaikanal.
Check in hotel & go for local sightseeing after a brief period of rest.

After breakfast, proceed for full day sight-seeing of Kodaikanal to enjoy the Pine Forest, Pillar Rocks, Green Valley View, Bryant Park and Coakers Walk which is a 01 km paved pedestrian path running along the edge of steep slopes. On a clear day one can view as far as Dolphin's Nose in the south, the valley of the Pambar River in the southeast, Periyakulam town and even the city of Madurai.
Later, proceed to Kodaikanal Lake which is an artificial star shaped 60 acres lake and is Kodaikanal's most popular geographic landmark. Rowboats, Pedals, Horses & Bicycles can be hired beside the lake for short period.

Kodaikanal to Coonoor to Ooty
Embark for a morning drive to Ooty by visiting all Coonoor attractions after breakfast for an activity-packed day. Coonoor is the second largest hill station in Nilgiris. There are a lot of view points around Coonoor.
First is the graceful Ketti Valley View: a tourist spot located on the Ooty Coonoor road (NH 67) that gives a spectacular view of the Ketti valley and is an important tourist centre in Ooty. Valley View is considered the Switzerland of Southern India. The valley extends from the Mysore plateau to the Coimbatore plains and is one of the largest valleys in the world.
Next pit stop is Wellington : Very few people visit this beautiful place near Coonoor as it is under Army. It is a very scenic and serene place. The golf course (18 Hole golf course) is one of the most beautiful golf courses around the world.
Sim's park will be the third point of attraction along the route. The Sim’s Park is spread over an area of more than 13 hectares. It is on the way to Dolphin Nose from Coonoor. There are more than 1000 plant species. Every year in the month of May, the fruit and vegetable show is organized in this park.
Another view point Coonoor visited frequented by visitor's in spite of the not so good road is Dolphin’s Nose. The view is breathtaking from this place. People say that the tip of the peak resembles a Dolphin's Nose which led to the name. There will be telescopes to see the Catherine falls, Black thunder in Mettupalayam, and tribal huts. Another place for people with love for photography.
The last stop before reaching the hotel will be Lamb’s Rock, another lovely view point and is ideal for all type of photographers. It is around 9 kms from Coonoor.
Ooty to Pyakara sightseeing
The day is packed with sightseeing activities which include attractions like:
Kamaraj Sagar Dam, Shooting Point, Pykara Lake, Pykara Falls Pykara Lake and Pykara Falls are around 19KMs from the town but the road is in very bad shape. You can’t drive at more than 10 KMpH. (A word of caution - near the fall the rocks are very slippery so be very careful.)
Mukurthi National Park : Mukurthi National Park (MNP) is a 78.46 km² protected area located in the western corner of the Nilgiris Plateau west of Ootacamund hill station in the northwest corner of Tamil Nadu state in the Western Ghats mountain range of South India. The park was created to protect its keystone species, the Nilgiri tahr. The park is characterised by montane grasslands and shrublands interspersed with sholas in a high altitude area with high rainfall, freezing temperatures and fierce winds. It is home to an array of endangered wildlife, including Royal Bengal tiger and Asian elephant. The park was previously known as Nilgiri Tahr National Park.
Needle Rock View Point is 10 kms, on Gudalur – Ooty road. This view point gives a 360 degree view. The sunset from here on clear days is breathtaking. A panoramic view of the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and Gudalur town far below, is a visual treat from this view point.
Frog Hill View Point is 11kms, on the way to Gudalur – Ooty road, that overviews the frog shape of the hill.
Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and National Park resides on the northwestern side of the Nilgiri Hills (Blue Mountains), in Nilgiri District, about 36 Km from Ooty. Its north side is covered by Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park and at its west is the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Along the south corner lies the Mukurthi National Park and Silent Valley National Park. These parks, sanctuaries and the adjoining Reserve forests cover over 3,300 sq kms of forest supporting a population of 1800–2300 elephants. This protected area is an ideal home to several endangered and vulnerable species nestling Indian elephant, Bengal Tiger, Gaur and Indian Leopard. There is a high diversity of animal life in the sanctuary with about 50 species of fishes, 21 species of amphibians, 34 species of reptiles, 227 species of birds and 55 species of mammals.
Return to hotel in Ooty for dinner and rest.
