Experience the best of Rajasthani culture, heritage, architecture and delicacies in Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar. Jaipur is a charismatic and historical city that provides a range of unique and fascinating activities and attractions.
After pickup from the hotel, visit the magnificent City Palace, which is the home of the Maharaja. This sprawling complex comprises of grand state rooms, interesting museums and decorative gates. The museum rooms haves displays ranging from historic art through to armoury - there is a lot to see in the palace so expect to expend between 1-2 hours here.
Then, visit the Hawa Mahal, a multi-windowed, lattice like façade of the City Palace which is best viewed from the Sireh Deori Bazaar. From the small windows, the wives of the Maharaja could spy daily life without being seen by the commoners. The lattice work played another useful feature as it channelled up the cooler air and provided a constant breeze in the state rooms, hence the name the Place of the winds. It does not take long to view the Hawa Mahal as only the exterior is worthy of a visit. While walking between the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar, take time to view the city walls and ornate city gates. All of the buildings within this central district are painted a uniform terracotta pink colour, which represent power and welcoming.
The final suggestion is to watch the sunset over Jaipur from the Sun Temple (Surya Mandir). The location of the temple provides panoramic views of Jaipur and on a clear day the city is bathed in golden by the setting sun, and there are monkeys to feed.

Make a full day schedule to visit the chaotic, bustling city of Ajmer located to the southwest of Jaipur, also in close proximity to Pushkar, the town of Hindu pilgrimage. The city surrounds the extensive Ana Sagar lake, while nestled in the centre of the ring of the majestic Aravalli Hills. With regards to the heritage and history of Islam, Ajmer is the iconic hub in Rajasthan, housing Khwaja Moinuddin-Chisti pilgrim centre. Ajmer is known to be a significant hub for Jainism, playing home to the golden Jain temple. History buffs and architecture experts find this city to be a mesmerising haunt. The excitement and colour of the spicy Ajmer cuisine is best experienced at the street food stalls. Samosa, chaat, kadi-bhujje and kachori are the must-haves, widely enjoyed by visitors from all over. The city also has restaurants with great food and good amenities.
Next stop will be the nearby city Pushkar that does not need any introduction for the glory, history and culture that it exhibits. The annual cattle fair, the holy lake, a handful of adventure activities, and endless emotions to capture on camera — Pushkar has it all for any avid traveller. Yes, the famous fair takes places in October & November at the banks of the Pushkar Lake.
Then, we visit the famous Brahma Temple, one of the very few temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the country. The temple is revered by Hindu devotees and people come here from far and wide to pay obeisance to the god of genesis. The city boasts of several other temples worth visiting —Savitri Temple, Old Rangji Temple, Apteshwar Temple, Paap Mochini Temple, Raghunath Temple, Atmeshwar Temple, Mahadeva Temple. These temples not only provide a spiritual getaway but also take one through the history lanes of this ancient city.
Pushkar lake, our last stop before returning to Jaipur is close to the temple of Lord Brahma. As per mythology, this place is where Brahma and Savitri offered their prayers. It is believed that a dip in this holy river is the harbinger of Moksha— freedom from birth. The lake has several ghats, designed especially for taking baths and offering prayers.Brahma Ghat is the most famous among many others like Varaha, Dadhich, Saptarishi, Gwalior, Kota, Gau, Yag, Jaipur, Karniand Gangaur Ghat.

Make the first visit to the Amer Fort, one of the most import fortifications in Rajasthan and combines impenetrable defences with intricate marble detail. The fort clings to the sides of the steep hill and provides commanding views over the entire region while inside are sumptuous rooms and symmetrical gardens. The Amer fort is the highlight of Jaipur and sufficient time should be provided to explore this wonderful palace.
On the way back from Amer fort, stop to view the Jal Mahal, the water palace. The palace was constructed as a duck hunting lodge by the Maharaja in the 18th century and appears to be floating on the still waters of Lake Sagar. The palace can only be viewed from the banks of the lake so only takes around 20 minutes to view.
The last stop will be Jantar Mantar, one of the renowned observatories in the world proves the scientific and astronomical abilities of the Rajput kings. The maharajas of Jaipur, who were undoubtedly the best architects and planners of their times, also demonstrated their expertise in scientific calculations by constructing Jantar Mantar.
