5 Days Archeology tour itinerary for israel: Embark On A Pilgrimage To The Holy Land
Caesarea, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Tel Aviv, Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem
Use this opportunity to trace the steps of Jesus Christ. Do boat rides at the sea of Galilee, enjoy scenic views at Mt. Carmel, Mt. Zion and Mount of Precipitation, sightsee the Cana of Galilee, Tabgha, Wailing Wall and walk along the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross) during this tour.
Jaffa – Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Mt. Carmel – Megiddo. (L/D).
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv Airport, a representative will meet and assist you at the Airport.
After we finish from the airport, we visit the Old Town of Jaffa, walk through the old alleys of Old Jaffa, where we believed the oldest port city in the world and where cedars from Lebanon arrived to build Solomon's Temple(2 Chronicles 2:16).
After we visit the port of Jaffa, we’ll visit the church of St. Peter's where St.Peter stayed at the house of Simon the Tanner. St. Peter's Church marks the traditional site of Peter’s vision of the Great Sheet (Acts 10:9-16).
Depart Tel Aviv by driving north along the coastal plain to Caesarea Maritima (Acts 9:30Acts 10:24-48) which was the center of early Christians, and capital of Judea under the Romans.
Visit the excavations of this ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct, here where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome (Acts 25-26).
Drive near the Mediterranean sea tell we'll reach Mt. Carmel(Muchraka), where Elijah issued his challenge to the False Prophets (1 Kings 18:16-24).
After lunch by the Drose restaurant, we’ll drive to Megiddo (1 Kings 9:15,2 Kings 23:29&Revelation 16:16), identified as the site of Armageddon (Revelation 16).
See the remains from Solomon’s days, view the site where the Battle of Armageddon will be fought(Revelation 16:14-16).
Visit the archaeological excavations at Megiddo, including the well-preserved water supply system from the time of King Achav.
Head to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight.
The Annunciation city
Church of Annunciation, Nazareth Synagogue, Mt. of Precipice, Mt. Tabor (Mt. of Transfiguration), Cana of Galilee. (B/L/D).
Start the day by visiting the town of Nazareth (Luke 1:26, Luke 4:16, Luke 4:29 & Matthew 2:23) where Jesus he grew up and helped Joseph in his workshop.
Walk to the synagogue of Nazareth where Jesus made miracles.
Take a beautiful view from the top of Mt. Precipice, also known as Mount of Precipitation, or Mount of the Leap of the Lord. It's believed to be the site of the rejection of Jesus (Luke 4:29, Luke 4:30).
Enjoy a local lunch in Nazareth.
Drive to Mt. Tabor (mount of transfiguration) with the Israeli tour guide.
Head to Cana of Galilee where Jesus performed his first public miracle, the turning of water into wine at the wedding feast (John 2:1, John 2:11).
Visit the church.
Head to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
SEA OF GALILEE
St. Peter Primacy, Tabga (Multiplication church), Sail on the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Mt. of Beatitudes. (B/L/D)
Have a morning pray at Mount of Beatitudes (Matthew 5) where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.
See the famous Church of the Beatitudes chapel, constructed between 1936 and 1938 by the noted architect Antonio Barluzzi and enjoy the view.
Drive to Tabgha, the site of the Feeding of the 5,000 from 2 fish and 5 loves and Primacy of Peter (Matthew 13, Mark 33, Mark 45, & John 21), Multiplication church with its 4th century mosaic floor, Capernaum (Matthew 4:13, Matthew 17:24, Luke 7) where is believed to have been Jesus' home and the center of his ministry, here we can stand in what is left of the synagogue in which Jesus ministered, and where he performed many miracles, and it's in Capernaum where Peter’s mother-in-law lived and was healed (Luke 4:38-40).
Have lunch in a fish restaurant near the sea of Galilee.
Enjoy a boat ride at the sea of Galilee.
Head to Jordan River for Baptisms.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Ascension and birth of Jesus
Chapel of the Ascension, Pater Noster, view of Old City, Dominus Flevit, Garden Gethsemane, David Tomb, Upper Room, Nativity Church. (B/L/D)
Drive to Mt. of olive in Jerusalem.
Visit the Chapel of the Ascension which is a small domed octagonal building on the top of the Mt. of olive, marking the traditional spot where Jesus ascended to heaven. (Luke 24:50-51).
Walk to the church of the Pater Noster the Eleona. According to tradition, Jesus taught the disciples the Lord's prayer. The church and the monastery under the Carmelite order. We can see the prayer portrayed on ceramic plaques in more than 160 languages (Luke11:2-4).
Enjoy the panoramic view of the old city of Jerusalem.
Head to the Church of Dominus Flevit. Where the Lord wept a Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44).
Walk to visit the Garden Gethsemane and the Basilica of the Agony (Luke 22:42-44), the site where it is believed that Jesus prayed to the Father hours before his crucifixion. The modern Church of All Nations has a beautiful mosaic on its facade.
Drive to Mt. Zion through the Jewish quarter and the Armenian quarter.
See the David tomb and the last supper (the Cenacle) (Mark 14:15) where Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciple.
Walk to Caiaphas house (St Peter in Gallicantu) where Peter denied Jesus 3 time (Luke 22:61 & Luke 22:60-62).
Proceed to Bethlehem to visit the Nativity Church, Overview of the historical and archaeological significance of Bethlehem, including a location profile, with an interesting article on the birth of Jesus. According to tradition, Mary gave at the place where the star is located on the floor.
Head to Shepherd's field where the shepherds heard the good tidings of Jesus berth from the angel of the Lord who told them to go to Bethlehem to adore the child (Luke 2:8-15).
Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Way of the Cross
Pools of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Temple Mount, Western (Wailing) Wall, Church of the Visitation. (B/L/D)
Today is a walking tour within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Visit the Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the man who had been crippled for 38 years (John 5:2-9), and the Church of St.Anne where there is an opportunity to sing a hymn before walking along the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross) from Pilate’s Judgment Hall to the empty tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Walk over the Temple Mount and visit the Western (Wailing)Wall – the holiest shrine for the Jewish people.
Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
Head to Ein Karem, the city in the hills of Juda to visit the Church of the Visitation, which by tradition is built over the House of Zacharias, where the Virgin Mary came to visit Elisabeth (Luke 1:39-80).
Return to Jerusalem and enjoy the rest of this day at leisure with an opportunity to visit the marketplace in the Old City. Dinner.
