Day 1: Trekking up the Mountain expand_more
- Meet the tour representative in Lethem and leave for Kumu village.
- Pick up the local guides from the village and drive down to the foot of the mountains.
- Start the trek. The trek will take us up the side of the Kanuku Mountains, where the goal is to reach the plateau. This area has streaming creeks and flat ground where we can camp.
- Go up to Schomburgk Peak. After camp is established, we set off to reach the peak to experience the sunset over the Rupununi Savannah. We will spend time at the top taking pictures prior to descending before the last light.

Day 2: Witness Wildlife and Great Views expand_more
- Set off to walk up Schomburgk Peak before the first light.
- See the sunrise over the savannah and then spend some time at the top exploring. There is known to be Cock of the Rock up there, which is active during the morning hours.
- Relax at the camp, during midday, next to the creek. This will give us a chance to bathe and cool off before we once again get ready to visit the top in the afternoon.
- Go out after dinner and try to explore the area around the mountain creek.

Day 3: Trek Down and Departure expand_more
- Have breakfast, pack up camp and get ready to descend.
- Descend down the mountain to reach the foot.
- Board the pick-up at the foot of the mountain to take you back to the stay.

- Good outdoor clothes (Trekking pants, long-sleeved shirt, good hiking boots, good quality socks)

- Mosquito repellent (Watch out for deet based products, they can destroy rubber on watches and jewellery.)
