About me

Hello, my name is James "Bear" Barnett. I had my start in exploration in 1979, emergency services in 1997 and formal teaching in 2006.I'm a paramedic, multi-faceted guide and educator with experience in a wide range of environments, locations and topics.I'm the operator of Solxplore, LLC a company which is involved in exploration, instruction, medical and logistics operations, and distribution of life-saving gear, as these facets are the path of my career and life passions.Through Solxplore and interaction with outfitters I provide clients with unique opportunities, such as advanced medical care in remote envionments, guiding on the edges of the earth and instuction in such topics as swiftwater rescue and wilderness medicine.

I work around the world with a number of outfitters, and specialize in providing safe passage to clients in all environments.I'm a Paramedic, with tremendous experience in many different environments.I specifically select outfitters who meet my criteria of professionalism and safety.Whether you would like to raft famed sections such as Gore Canyon or Cataract Canyon, mountain bike Kokopelli's in Moab, UT or dive off the coast of Vietnam I have the expertise, professionalism and passion to take you there and back.If you or a loved one need advanced medical care during your journey I'm able to provide or facilitate this, as I contract with a number of remote medical professionals, paramedics, nurses and medical doctors who can provide the care you need while exploring beautiful lands.
