Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival & Afternoon Game Drive

   •  Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or designated meeting point.
   • Begin your drive toward Mikumi National Park, a journey that takes approximately 5 hours. The route is filled with stunning landscapes—rolling hills, colorful villages, and lush greenery that gradually transitions into the savannah of Mikumi. Along the way, you may spot the occasional wildlife, such as monkeys or birds, adding to the anticipation.
   • As you enter Mikumi National Park, you’ll notice the dramatic change in scenery—a vast, open plain dotted with acacia trees and distant hills. Mikumi is famous for its expansive landscape and is a sanctuary to a wide range of wildlife.
   • Upon arrival, Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch,After lunch, embark on your first thrilling game drive in Mikumi. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including herds of elephants, majestic giraffes, grazing buffalo, and, if you’re lucky, the elusive lions and leopards. The terrain is open, making it easy to spot wildlife from the comfort of your 4x4 safari vehicle.As the sun begins to set, return to your lodge or camp. The African sunset is a spectacular sight, with warm colors painting the sky over the endless savannah.
   • Enjoy a hearty dinner under the stars, with the sounds of nature around you.

2. Day 2: Full-Day Safari & Return

   • Wake up early to the sounds of the wild, and enjoy a wholesome breakfast at your lodge or camp, preparing you for a full day of adventure.
   • Early Morning Game Drive Depart at dawn to catch the early morning activity in the park. The crisp morning air makes this the ideal time to see predators on the hunt, especially lions, leopards, and hyenas. The early hours also bring out a variety of birds, making Mikumi a haven for bird watchers. The cool temperatures and soft light offer incredible photographic opportunities.
   • Continue Game Drive: Venture deeper into Mikumi, exploring different areas of the park. The varied habitats—open grasslands, woodland, and wetlands—support a rich diversity of wildlife. Look for large herds of buffalo, impalas, and wildebeests, and keep an eye out for rare sightings such as cheetahs or hyenas scavenging.
   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint within the park. It’s the perfect spot to relax, stretch your legs, and take in the beauty of the African wilderness. The vastness of the landscape around you is awe-inspiring.After lunch, continue with another game drive. As the day progresses, the park comes alive with even more animal activity. 
   • Late Afternoon  Begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam, where you’ll arrive in the evening, filled with stories and wildlife encounters from your adventure.
