Itinerary

1. Day 1: Begin Trek from Momela Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2500m)

   • Depart from the hotel in Arusha after an early breakfast.

   • Drive for approximately one hour to reach Momela Gate in Arusha National Park.

   • Complete the registration formalities at the gate.

   • Begin trekking under the escort of an armed ranger.

   • Spot wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, monkeys, antelopes, and possibly elephants along the scenic trail.

   • Ascend gradually through montane forest and open glades.

   • Reach Miriakamba Hut (2500m) after 5 to 7 hours of trekking.

   Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hut under full board.

2. Day 2: Ascend to Saddle Hut (3500m), Climb Little Meru (3820m)

   • Wake early and prepare for the day’s uphill trek.

   • Hike from Miriakamba to Saddle Hut via a steep path along a ridge.

   • Admire panoramic views of the Meru Crater and the Ash Cone en route.

   • Arrive at Saddle Hut in time for a hot lunch.

   • Rest briefly, then hike to the summit of Little Meru (3820m) for spectacular sunset views.

   • Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight stay under full board.

   • Total trekking time: 3 to 5 hours.

3. Day 3: Summit Mount Meru (4566m), Descend to Momela Gate

   • Wake up by 1:30 a.m. and begin the summit attempt with headlamps and warm gear.

   • Climb steeply to Rhino Point (3800m) and then to Cobra Point (4350m).

   • Reach Socialist Peak (4566m) by sunrise for unforgettable views, including Mount Kilimanjaro above the clouds.

   • Descend carefully along the narrow ridgeline back to Saddle Hut for brunch.

   • Continue descending through forest trails to Momela Gate.

   • Transfer back to Arusha by vehicle and check in at your hotel for rest.

   • Total trekking time: 12 to 14 hours.
