Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

   • Depart from Dar es Salaam early in the morning for Selous Game Reserve. This will be a 4-hour drive with a short break for lunch enroute.

   • On arrival in Selous Game Reserve, transfer immediately to the park for a late afternoon game drive. Only 200 km west of Dar es Salaam lies the mighty Selous Game Reserve, one of Africa's least known yet wildest conservation areas. This 55,000 sq km forest reserve is home to a number of large animals.

   Overnight stay at the accommodation.

2. Day 2: Full Day at Selous Game Reserve

   • After breakfast, get picked up for a half day game drive.

   • After the game drive, have a short break to relish the packed lunch.

   • Have lunch and then go for a boat safari to watch the wild in action.

   • Stop by to bathe in the natural hot springs in Selous Game Reserve.

   Return to the accommodation for an overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Full Day at Selous Game Reserve

   • Enjoy another day of an exciting game drive in Selous Game Reserve. Feel the thrill of watching Big Five and other game in action with the naked eye.

   • After the game drive, return to the accommodation for an overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Selous to Mikumi National Park

   • Have breakfast, and then check out as you are going to Mikumi National Park on this day.

   • Upon arrival, check in to the lodge/accommodation and set out for a walking safari to Uluguru Mountain Forest, where you will get to experience Masai life and culture and visit local farms to see how they grow strawberries and other plants.

   • Admire the rich variety of bird species, and you can also spot zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, impalas, warthog, elands, antelopes, etc.

   Return to the accommodation for an overnight stay.

5. Day 5: Full Day in Mikumi National Park

   • Early in the morning, get picked up for a full day game drive in Mikumi National Park. So be ready with your cameras as it's going to be some fun watching the action live.

   • After the game drive, return to the accommodation for an overnight stay.

6. Day 6: Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

   • After breakfast, drive to Ruaha National Park.

   • Upon arrival, begin an afternoon game drive inside the park. The game drive will start immediately after you check in to the lodge.

   • After an evening game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

7. Day 7: Ruaha National Park

   • Start the day with a delicious breakfast and then get picked up for a half day walking safari with the rangers.

   • Have lunch in the afternoon and then you will again proceed for the evening game drive in Ruaha National Park.

8. Day 8: Full Day at Ruaha National Park

   • After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park. It takes its name from the great Ruaha River, which flows through the park, creating spectacular gorges. The river is like a lifeline to the hippos, crocodiles, water buffaloes, red buffaloes, water-bucks and reed-bucks, which can be seen here

   • At the end of the day, return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

9. Dy 9: Ruaha to Dar es Salaam

   • After breakfast, go for a historical tour to the Majimaji war Museum.

   • As the tour nears its end, transfer to Dar es Salaam Airport or to your hotel.
