    • 03:30 - Pick up from the hotel and start the trip to a local family home.

    • 08:30 - Arrive at the farm and take a brief break after your long and early journey.

    • 09:00 - At this time, the family will guide you around the farm, explain the work that is performed on the farm, and show you the range of produces being harvested to support their family. There, you will also be able to taste the available fruit in season! This locally-owned run farm is a small one that pertains to a cooperative organization in accordance with fair trade practices, which grants it organic certification.

    • During this initial tour of the larger farm and coffee plantation, you will come to truly appreciate all of the hard work and the various stages that go into preparing an excellent cup of coffee or chocolate!

    • 11:30 - Interactive demonstration on toasting coffee and cacao, where you will have the opportunity to even prepare your own cup of fresh coffee or chocolate.

    • 12:30 - Lunch on the farm (locally prepared family-style dishes). If you would like to try something special, a guinea pig, for example, PWT can coordinate with the family ahead of time and pay them directly upon arrival.

    • 13:40 - After another break, you will continue on your journey to Santa Maria, and afterwards to Santa Teresa and finally to the hydroelectric station to take the train to Aguas Calientes.

    • 16:00 - Arrive at the hydroelectric station.

    • 16:30 - Travel by train in the direction of Aguas Calientes.

    • 17:30 - Arrive at Aguas Calientes at your basic hostel accommodation. Upon arrival, your guide will give you information about your tour of Machu Picchu for the next day. The evening is yours to spend as you please.

  • Day 2- Tour of Machu Picchu expand_more
    • In the morning, take a tour of Machu Picchu with your guide for about two hours, and then you will have the opportunity to explore the citadel on your own. Take the best photos and soak in the natural scenery here!

    • In the afternoon, have lunch on your own (not included).

    • Later travel by train to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cusco.
