  • Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Lake Sandoval expand_more
    • Meet your tour guide at the airport.

    • Head to the river port and proceed for a boat trip along the river. Admire scenic views from your boat.

    • Feast on a delicious lunch on board.

    • Set out on a three-kilometre walk in the forest to reach Lake Sandoval.

    • Enjoy a canoe ride through the lake and cross the flooded forest. Look out for the unique flora and fauna of the Amazon with your tour guide.

    • Arrive at the lodge and settle in your rooms. 

    • Make your way to the lake in the evening on a canoe journey and witness a beautiful sunset. 

    • After dark, use your flashlights to look for black alligators. 

    • Return to the lodge for dinner at the lodge.

  • Day 2: Tambopata National Reserve Trek expand_more
    • Set out from your lodge early in the morning for a trek in the forest. Look for giant otters and many species of birds.

    • Return to the lodge for breakfast. 

    • Make your way to the Amazonian Brazil Nut Forest. Brazil nuts form the livelihood of many families in the region and are a sustainable way for families to earn their living. 

    • Return to your lodge for a hearty lunch.

    • Trek through the rainforest after lunch to see the giant trees of the Amazonia.

    • After dark, set out on a nocturnal animal adventure as you look for the creatures of the night, hear the sounds of the forest, and spot many insects and other small animals.

    • Return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight. 

  • Day 3: Rainforest Trek and Canopy Walk expand_more
    • Before dawn, sail across a lake to see the flocks of large macaws that come to eat the bark of palm trees. 

    • Set out on a forest trek until you reach the Tambopata River. 

    • Have breakfast at the lodge just outside the Tambopata National Reserve. 

    • Continue on your forest trek through one of the trails in the forest, or walk leisurely through the forest. 

    • Have lunch at the Green Diamond Amazon lodge. 

    • Visit the 400-meter long canopy walkway in the afternoon with your Peruvian guide. You will get to see some flora and fauna that live exclusively in the rainforest canopy, such as sloths, macaws, toucans, heliconias, orchids and many canopy birds. 

    • Savour your dinner at the lodge. 

    • Spend your last night here listening to local jungle stories and legends.  

  • Day 4: Parrots' Clay Lick & Puerto Maldonado expand_more
    • At sunrise, make your way by boat to the Parrots' Clay Lick. The clay licks in Tambopata are bare cliffs containing rich deposits of salts and minerals, which are essential to parrots. The parrots visit the clay licks every morning at sunrise, gather on top of the trees, go down to eat the clay and return to the forest. Watching the parrots is always an absolute delight. 
    • Have a hearty breakfast aboard your boat.

    • Set out back to Puerto Maldonado.

    • Conclude your tour with a visit to a cocoa processing centre in the city and learn how locals make chocolate. 

    • Transfer back to the airport.
