  • Day 1: Delphi expand_more
    • Set off with a drive along the national highway, heading towards northern Greece. Come across the Plain of Thieves and the city of Levadia.

    • Cover the slopes of Mount Parnassus before reaching the mythical Delphi.

    • First stop is going to be a small, mountainous village, very close to a ski resort, made up of traditional houses and shops selling locally produced products.

    • Walkthrough the village with its narrow, country streets and shops on the central street, you will have a breathtaking view of the mountains full of olive trees in front of you.

    • After spending some time in this area of serenity, drive to the ancient site of Delphi, a famous sanctuary with a PanHellenic character dedicated to Apollo. It served as an oracle and was considered ‘the navel’ of the world. The scenic location allows you to have a soothing view of the Greek mountains and two more interesting sites, the Gymnasium and the secondary sanctuary of Athena Pronea.

    • Meanwhile, at the site, visit the temple of Apollo where Pythia spoke to the oracles, the theatre, and the stadium. While in the museum you will be able to see the famous charioteer and Gold Ivory statues.

    • Have lunch at the modern village of Delphi with a peaceful view of the mountains of Fokis.

    • Before heading out, stop at the point well known for its great view, you will see the Corinthian Sea, the port of Itea and the valley full of olive trees (olive sea).

    • Continue with a drive through the mountains by not taking the national highway, to see the real Greek countryside. Pass by the cities of Lamia, Trikala, and Karditsa, and reach Kalabaka, a beautiful small city that is dominated by the Meteora.

    • Then, you will have time to take an evening walk and enjoy a local dinner after settling in the hotel.

  • Day 2: Meteora expand_more
    • Begin a glorious morning with a visit to the monasteries and have a closer look at the holy rocks. On the rocks that are somewhat suspended in the air, there is one of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries, still in use. Meteora combines natural beauty and cultural heritage- a fact that makes them a unique destination between the world’s monuments.

    • Have lunch at Kalabaka and head towards Athens-the last stop.

    • Visit the battlefield of Thermopylae en-route. In the historical centre, you will enjoy a 3D movie, travelling through time, you will be able to feel the presence of all who died for their freedom under a foreign conqueror.

    • To get a complete experience from this visit, look out for the statue of Leonidas standing right opposite Kolonos Hill where the persisting Spartans took their last breath.
