9 Hours Eco Tourism tour itinerary for Serre Kunda & Kuloro: Know About These Grass Root Eco-Village Projects

• Drive from your hotel to the Grass Root Projects Eco-Friendly villages of Gallowya, Kubuneh and Tungina with just 70 residents.

• Make a stop at Galloya Wide Open Walls and Ballabu Conservation Project, which was held by James and Lawrence. The Gambians living away from the tourist areas have great difficulty providing for themselves and their families. A lot of those people move to the coast in the hopes of finding work there. There is not enough work for them and thus, there is a huge risk for them to become the so-called ‘bumsters’.

• Stop for local Palm Wine Tapper where you will learn to extract juice from the palm trees and how it is supplied to the Local Consumers.

• Drive to Kubuneh Village and take a break.

• Take a boat trip towards the Baobab Island to the Eco-village of Tungina, which is a Small Ecological Farm with 30 hectares of green vegetable garden.

• Go on a one-hour boat ride to the Tungina Bolong (creek) and Wonderland Eco Lodge for a coffee break.

• Have lunch. Cook together with the locals.

• Take a forest walk in the afternoon in the Green Gallery Forest of Farasurtu. Get a chance to spot owls, rollers, plovers, reptiles and even crocodiles.

• Drive back toward the village to Brikama town for a stop for shopping at the fantastic wood Factory.
