See the best cities of Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast as you explore the rich history and culture of Ghana. You will also enjoy a stroll in the largest open market in West Africa and a visit to the picturesque Boti waterfalls.

DAY 01

ARRIVAL

  • Arrival in Ghana with an Akwaaba reception, meet one of our experienced drivers and tour guides for onward transfer to your hotel. 

  • Overnight in Accra.

DAY 02

ACCRA CITY TOUR

  • The group/client will immerse themselves in the life of the city on an educational tour of the National Museum, which has an exhibition on some ancient relics reflecting the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial eras of Ghana as well as other parts of Africa. 

  • You will also visit the memorial site of Ghana’s first president and the African of the 20th century, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the W.E.B. Dubois Centre for Pan African Culture and enjoy a shopping spree at the largest arts and craft bazaar at the Arts Centre to put your negotiation skills to test. This is done whilst passing through some principal streets of the city and seeing many of her landmarks.

  • Overnight in Accra.

DAY 03

ACCRA/KOFORIDUA

  • Leave for Koforidua. 

  • Visit the Aburi Botanical Garden en route. The 65 hectare garden was established in 1890 by the British and has a large variety of subtropical trees some of which were planted by some world leaders such as Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 1960.

  • We will also visit the Aburi Craft village, the Mampong Centre for Research of  Plant Medicine and the Boti waterfalls, the umbrella rock and the three headed palm tree.

  • Overnight in Koforidua.

DAY 04

KOFORIDUA/KUMASI

  • Departing from Koforidua, the group will visit the traditional building and shrine of Ashanti at Ejisu Besease.

  • Further tours will include visits to Bonwire renowned for being the originating place of the world famous kente woven textile, Ntonsowhich is popular for the Adinkra traditional textile and Awhiaa Township for woodcarving. 

  • Overnight in Kumasi.

DAY 05

KUMASI CITY TOUR

  • We will visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword site where this mysterious priest who conjured the golden stool embodying the soul of Ashanti from the sky drove this sword into the ground in 1697 predicting that no one could ever pull it out of its place.

  • Other places of interest will include the Prempeh II Museum where you will find a replica and the fake golden stool presented to the British. You will continue to the Manhyia Palace which has served as the seat of the Ashanti monarchy since 1924 and the Military Museum. 

  • Also, visit the largest open market in West Africa Kejetia spanning 12 hectares. 

  • Overnight in Kumasi.

DAY 06

KUMASI/ELMINA

  • The group will depart Kumasi for Elmina via the Assin Manso Slave River site where the enslaved Africans had their last bath in African waters before continuing to the castles, waiting for the Trans-Atlantic journey.

  • The group will also visit the Elmina Castle. The Ft. St. Georges is the oldest European building in Sub-Sahara Africa and one of the largest slave dungeons in the world built by the Portuguese in 1482.

  • Overnight in Elmina.

DAY 07

ELMINA

  • Visit the Kakum National Park which is a virgin forest spanning 357 km2. It boasts of the only canopy walkway in Africa and offers an excellent walking tour through the forest to see Ghana’s indigenous plant life which has medicinal as well as socio-cultural values.

  • We will also visit he Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site built by the British in 1665 will also be toured before retiring for the day.

  • Overnight in Elmina.

DAY 08
