Explore important historical buildings, markets, museums, national park, and cities of Ghana. National Museum, Bunso Arboretum, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, Kente village and National Cultural Center are just a few of the places you will visit on this tour.
DAY 01
Arrival-Accra
Meet upon arrival at Kotoka International in Accra.
Use safe transport to get to your hotel in an air-conditioned Toyota 4Runner 4X4Accra or a saloon car.
Refresh and relax. If there is time, move into neighbourhood or city orientation.
Overnight at a mid-range beachfront hotel in downtown Accra.
DAY 02
National Museum, Bunso Arboretum, Abompe, Nkawkaw
Meet your African tour guide at 8:30 AM.
Visit the National Museum in Accra.
Head to the Bunso Arboretum which hosts many trees, including Brazil nuts.
Onward to Abompe to experience the village life and bauxite bead making for 3 hours.
Overnight in a mid-range hotel in Nkawkaw with a view of the Kwahu Range.
DAY 03
Kwahu Highlands, Kente Village, Cocoa Farm, Kumasi
Visit the Kente village of Adanwomase.
Enjoy a palm wine or cocoa farm tour.
Late day, arrive in Kumasi, Ghana's second-largest city and the heart of the Ashanti Kingdom. 3 3/4 hours
Overnight at a deluxe bed & breakfast in Kumasi.
DAY 04
National Cultural Center, Manhyia Palace, Kejetia Market
In the morning, visit the National Cultural Center, one of Ghana's best museums. Home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace, and the Komfo Anokye Sword Kumasi.
In the afternoon, enjoy a shopping experience at West Africa's largest outdoor market.
Overnight at a deluxe bed & breakfast in Kumasi.
DAY 05
Slave Cemetery, Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park
In the morning, depart for the former slave market and cemetery of Assin Manso.
Tour the U.N. World Heritage Site of Cape Coast Castle (video camera is an extra fee) and Elmina.
Go for an adventurous tour of West Africa's only rain forest canopy walkway in Kakum National Park for 4 1/2 hours.
Overnight at a deluxe oceanfront resort on a secluded beach.
DAY 06
Omanye House, Coffin Shop, Accra Departure
Relax at the beach watching the morning catch.
Depart for Accra.
Visit the Omanye House art gallery and an exotic coffin workshops at Teshie.
Stop by the family home of your African guide to refresh.
