1 Day Culture tour itinerary for London: Go On A Walking Tour Of Saint Albans
Step back in time to when Britannia was a province in the Roman Empire & visit the small but picturesque city of St. Albans at Hertfordshire, England. St. Albans Abbey, English market etc. You can also visit the Roman museum and the Outdoor coliseum.
I will collect you from your local hotel or train/tube station and drive you to St. Albans. Once there, I will provide a guided tour of everything that we see.
In this walking tour, we will visit the Roman remains of the city walls before walking up the hill to visit the magnificent St. Albans Abbey, the ancient cathedral of the city and resting place of an early Christian martyr.
St. Albans is full of history from the near overthrow of Roman rule by Queen Boudicea who burned the city & massacred its population to more recent battles in the civil war.
Visit the authentic English market or the ancient church supposedly the resting place of Sir Francis Bacon. Optional visits to the Roman museum and outdoor coliseum.
Light refreshments are included but St. Albans also has one of the oldest pubs in England!
Entry fees to Museums are included.
