DAY 01

Nairobi

  • Meet warmly the representatives on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

  • Transfer to your city hotel where the guides will brief you on your safari arrangements.

  • Enjoy overnight at the hotel where you are booked on bed and breakfast.

DAY 02

Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

  • Early this morning, your Kenyan safari guide/driver will warmly meet you on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or at your Nairobi hotel. 

  • Brief you then drive to Amboseli National Park where you will be arriving for lunch.

  • This afternoon, depart on a game viewing drive. From the lodge, you can enjoy the view of the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). The park is home to the lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest among others.

  • Enjoy dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge LDBB or similar.

DAY 03

Amboseli National Park

  • Savour morning and afternoon game viewing drives. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Masai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.

  • Enjoy meals and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 04

Amboseli National Park - Aberdare National Park

  • Relish breakfast then depart to the Aberdare National Park with packed lunch.

  • Arrive at the Aberdare Country Club to a warm welcome. You will leave your excess luggage in safe custody at the Aberdare Country Club which is the ground serving hotel for the Ark.

  • Transfer to the Ark Lodge, located deep in the park & nicely surrounded by a nice, green forest.

  • Spend the night watching wildlife from the lodge decks. There is also an underground bunker that takes you more closely to the wildlife as they come to the flood-lit water hole to drink and bath.

  • Enjoy overnight at The Ark Lodge or LDBB similar.

DAY 05

Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

  • Enjoy breakfast then drive to the Aberdare Country Club where you pick your luggage then proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stopover at Thompson's Falls.

  • Arrive at the lodge for lunch.

  • Depart on an afternoon game viewing drive. The scenic 188 km sq Lake Nakuru game park is home to the black and white rhino, prides lions, cape buffalos, waterbucks, reticulated giraffes, hartebeests among many others. When the water levels in the lake are low, the 68 km sq alkaline lake is famous for the thousands of greater and lesser flamingoes. The park has the largest euphorbia forest in Africa.

  • Fancy dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge LDBB or similar.

DAY 06

Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara Game Reserve

  • Appreciate an early breakfast and depart to the Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving for lunch.

  • Depart on an afternoon game viewing drive in search of the hundreds of wildlife species the game reserve is famous for. These include the lion, cape buffalo, the savannah elephant, black rhino and the elusive leopard, impalas, Masai giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, Thompson & grant's gazelles, topis, the resident wildebeests among many others.

  • Enjoy dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp LDBB or similar.

DAY 07

Masai Mara Game Reserve

  • Optional Activity: Go on a Balloon Safari over the Mara plains or visit a traditional Masai Village (at an extra cost).

  • Enjoy breakfast then a full day of game viewing drive in search of the Big-Five among many other wildlife species. In addition to wildlife, the Mara has nice, varied scenery to enjoy. The vast plains and grasslands are also home to hundreds of bird species.

  • Relish meals and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp LDBB or similar.

DAY 08

Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi

  • Wakeup for breakfast then check-out. You may opt to drive or take a one-hour flight (at an extra cost) to Nairobi.

  • Enjoy a farewell lunch at the carnivore restaurant then your Kenyan safari guide/driver will drop you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.

  • Optional Activity: Balloon Safari over the Mara plains or visit a traditional Masai Village (at an extra cost) - USD 450

  • Contract variations: The rates mentioned on the website are subject to change without prior notice; however, every effort will be made to maintain them.In the event of a change in Government Taxes or Levies affecting the rates mentioned herein, Southern Safaris and Travel reserves the right to pass on any increases above 5% to Tour Operator or a client.

  • Payment Policy: A deposit of 35% is required at the time of booking.The balance is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program.If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure, the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation.

  • Children Policy: Children under 3 years sharing a room with an adult will be accommodated complimentary (maximum two).Children between the age of 3 and 12 years pay 50% of the adult rate if sharing a room with two adults and 75% of the adult rate if sharing a room with another child/ren or they pay 100% of the adult rates if sharing a room with one [sensitive content]discount on holidays and other supplements.This condition may vary from one property to the other please check this with the tour operator.

  • Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be received in writing.As all suppliers charge cancellation fees, they are in turn passed on to us.Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in the number of occupancies are subject to cancellation and no-show fees.Following is the scale for cancellation charges:

    • 35% if cancelled between 45 and 35days prior to arrival

    • 50% if cancelled between 34 and 15 days prior to arrival.

    • 100% if cancelled 14 days and 24hours prior to arrival

  • Itinerary Changes: Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be noted that the hoteliers in Kenya may be obliged to occasionally change routes on safaris as dictated by changing conditions.Such conditions may be brought about by seasonal rainfall on bush tracks, airfields and in game areas, by game migrations from one region to another, or airline or other booking problems, etc.Golden Elephant Safariswill communicate with you for such itinerary or accommodation changes

  • Per-person rate (P/Pax): This is the cost of one client sharing a twin or double room with another.

  • Single Room Supplement (SRS): Should a client wish to have a room by themselves, this supplement should be added to the “per person sharing” rate.

  • Tipping: Tips are not included in the costs but below is a schedule which could be used as a guide by the guests should they wish to tip the staff on the appreciation of services rendered.

  • Recommended tip to:

    • Waiters US$ 1-2 per table per meal (lunch and dinner)

    • Porters US$ 1-2 for 2 guests per porter

    • Driver/Guide US$ 3 – 5 per person per day

  • Baggage: Baggage allowance for domestic flights is 10 kg per person including hand luggage.Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and aircrafts used within East Africa.Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″ are impossible to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used.(Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).

  • Accommodation Pricing: The quote is expressed as per person sharing a double room and a supplement for single room occupation has also been shown.The rate includes accommodation based on the hotels and lodges mentioned in the program using standard rooms.

  • Holiday and Seasonal Supplements: Most hotels and lodges in East Africa charge a supplement over Easter, Christmas and New Year, for this they provide special festive meals or entertainments or something similar and sometimes requires a minimum number of nights in order to confirm the booking.However, evening entertainment in the safari lodges and camps is rare, as noise is likely to scare the wildlife.
