3 Days Safari tour itinerary for Tsavo East National Park & Tsavo West National Park: Experience An Ideal Beach Extension Wildlife Safari

Travel across the largest parks in Kenya - the Tsavo National Park (East and West), beginning from Nairobi or any coastal Town of Diani, Malindi, Watamu Mombasa Or Kilifi. Among the less common animals to be found are the fringed-eared oryx, the gerenuk, and the lesser kudu. The carnivores in addition to lion include the majority of big cats family.

DAY 01

Mombasa - Diani To Tsavo East

  • Pick up from the hotel at around 6.00 am, followed by driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway for 100 kms.

  • Stopover for coffee. 

  • Proceed 6 kms to Tsavo East (The largest park in Kenya which covers an area of 13,747 km2) and arrive at Bachuma. 

  • Begin the game drive en route to Aruba Dam (A waterhole where animals come to drink water). Physical attractions include: Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River, and Aruba Dam.

  • Get a chance to see animals like red elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetah, and giraffes among others. 

  • Proceed with the game drive to Ashnil Aruba Lodge; check in at around 1.00 pm. 

  • Have lunch and relax until 4.00 pm.

  • Start another game drive till 6.30 pm.

  • Return for dinner and overnight in Ashnil Aruba Lodge or similar.

DAY 02

Tsavo West (Lions Bluff Sanctuary)

  • Wake up at 5.30 am for coffee and start an early morning game drive till 8.30 am and return for breakfast.

  • Check out, followed by a game drive en route to the gate. 

  • Depart to Lions Bluff Sanctuary at a distance of 90 kms. 

  • Arrive at the gate, and begin a game drive en route to Lion Rock Camp arriving at around 1.00 pm for check-in and lunch. 

  • Relax till 3.30 pm then begin a game drive till 6.30 pm.

  • Lions Bluff Sanctuary covers an area of 60,000 Ha and is a national conservancy which is owned and managed by the community. It is part of Tsavo West National Park, (the second largest park in Kenya which covers and area of 9,065 km2). 

  • Physical attractions include: semi-arid regions, grassland savannah, lion rocks, and views of Taita Hills and Pare mountains in Tanzania, Acacia forests and Commiphora bushes among others.

  • The sanctuary is home to elephants, buffalos, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, heart beasts, eland antelopes and zebras among others. This place hosts around 52 species of birds and some of which have been recorded include ostriches, kori bustard (the heaviest flying bird in the world), guinea fowls, spurfowls, sprawlings among others.

  • Lumo wildlife sanctuary is one of the most attractive sanctuaries that preserves, conserves, and protects wildlife with its flora and fauna in the eco-system.

  • Dinner and overnight at Lion Rock camp or similar.

DAY 03

Tsavo West - Diani Or Mombasa

  • Wake up at 5.30 am for a coffee, and begin an early morning game drive till around 8.30 am before a full breakfast then check out. 

  • Make the last game drive en route to the gate, then depart to Voi town for lunch. 

  • Drive back to hotel, arriving late in the evening.

End of tour.
