Climb up to Lenana Point , one of the highest peaks on Mount Kenya, starting from Naru Moru town. The Lenana summit point is at an altitude of 4,985 m and offers breathtaking mountain scenery and scenic splendour all around.
DAY 01
naru moru - met station
Move from Naru Moru town, situated in Nyeri County towards the Naru Moru park gate. Here, you will make the entrance fees to proceed further. Then, continue with a 9.5 km trek to the Met Station Hut. You will have lunch here and then rest for climatisation.
Dinner and overnight stay at Met Station Hut.
DAY 02
Met station to mackinders camp
After your breakfast, you will make preparations for a whole day walk through steep terrain of the Naro Moru route to reach at Mackinders camp. It can be about some 12.5 km walk and climb. In between the journey, you will break for rest, snacks and lunch. Here, you will cross the Naro Moru river.
Overnight stay at Mackinders camp (4,200 m).
DAY 03

Wake up at around 03:30 hrs, have a cup of coffee before making preparations for rest of the day's hike.
Begin with a steep hike in the mountain areas right till you reach the summit Point Lenana (4,985 m). Today's hike can take about some 3 hours. Revel in the beautiful sunrise views at the top, when you reach to the top.
After sightseeing, descend down the mountain and return to camp for some breakfast rest and a late afternoon nature walk. Overnight stay will be at Mackinders camp itself.
DAY 04
mackinders camp to met station
After your morning breakfast, make preparations to move out of Mackinders camp and to proceed to the Met Station at around 09:00 hrs. Sleep at Met Station Hut and the next day morning, you can check out from this area through the Naru Moru gate.

This trip is a 4 day trekking and hiking tour to Mt. Kenya peaks upto the summit of point Lenana (4,985 alt). Through Naru Moru or Sirimon route, the entrance fees is the same at both the gates. Naru Moru route is about 24 km while Sirimon route is about 27 kms. Naru Moru route is steeper as compared to the Sirimon route, which is gentle. Both the routes have two camping stations before summiting at the Lenana point. The Naru Moru route has also an extra stop - Austrian Hut - which can be used by those intending to go for rock climbing at Nelion or Batian peaks.
The price is the same from both routes - Naru Moru and Sirimon.
