Day 2: Aksum expand_more
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Aksum, the African Iron Age Kingdom and oldest capital of Ethiopia.
Depart on a city tour, including visiting the ancient stelae (obelisks) and the national museum, widely rated as Ethiopia's best museum.
Then, visit the ruins of the Palace of the legendary Queen of Sheba and the tombs of ancient Axumite kings and queens.

Day 3: Lalibela expand_more
Have breakfast, then travel to the airport for your flight to Lalibela, famous for its rock-hewn churches dating back 800 years. This is the most important stop on the historical route. You can view the 11 churches carved into the rugged mountainside from the air, which is an amazing spectacle.
Go on an afternoon excursion to visit those ancient churches.
