Go for a guided tour through the historic route in the southern part of Ethiopia. Visit popular spots like Bahir Dar, Aksum, Gondar, Harar and more; also, visit the many indigenous tribes who are still rooted in their traditional way of life. 

DAY 01

Arrival at Addis Ababa

  • Arrival at Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa), where you will meet our representative and transferred to your hotel.

  • Overnight in your hotel in Addis.

DAY 02

Bahir Dar

  • Leave Addis Ababa and drive north passing by Mt. Entoto through the Sululta plain, visiting the monastery of Debre Libanos and the so-called Portuguese Bridge.

  • Then, proceed to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Blue Nile Gorge, where you will stop for your picnic lunch and proceed to Bahir Dar.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 03

Lake Tana and Blue Nile Fall

  • After an early breakfast, drive to the mighty Blue Nile falls, commonly known as "Tiss Isat".

  • Upon return, take a sightseeing tour of Bahir Dar.

  • After lunch, you will take a boat excursion on Lake Tana to visit the ancient monasteries.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 04


  • After breakfast, drive to Gondar and visit the 17th-century castles, the Bath of King Fasiledes, and the monastery of Debre Berhan Selassie.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 05

Simen Mountain National Park

  • Excursion to the Simen Mountain National Park for a spectacular view of the roof of Africa.

  • Overnight in Debark.

DAY 06

The Ancient Town of Axum

  • After an early breakfast, drive north of Gondar through the Simien Mountains and the Tekeze River Valley to the ancient town of Axum.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 07

Full Day City Tour in Axum town

  • Have a full day city tour in Axum town. Visit the Stale tombs, which are considered to be the oldest monolithic stand in the world.

  • Visit the church compound of St. Mary of Zion, which is the seat of the true Moose's Ark of the covenant.

  • Visit the Queen of Sheba's palace.

  • Visit King Kaleb's and Gebremeskel's palace and tombs.

  • Visit Archeological Museum.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 08


  • Leave Axum and drive to the 5th century BC sites of Yeha and Debre Damo monastery and proceed to Mekele.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 09

The Legendary Town of Lalibella

  • After breakfast, leave Mekele and drive through Ambalage chain of mountains, and proceed to the legendary town of Lalibela.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 10


  • Visit the rock-hewn churches in Lalibela town, dating back to the 12th century, considered to be the 8th wonders of the world.

  • We can also try an optional excursion to some of the rock-hewn churches around Lalibela town. In addition to the architecture of the churches, you can also admire a panoramic view of the town.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 11


  • Depart Lalibela town to Kembolcha.

  • Overnight stay in your hotel.

DAY 12

Addis Ababa

  • Depart from Kombolcha to Addis Ababa.

  • On the way, visit the land occupied by the Afar shepherds, a semi-nomadic people who live mainly in the deserts of Danakil depression. You will encounter them on the road with their caravans of camels.

  • Also, in Senbete village, on Sundays, there is an interesting market where the Afar, Oromo, and Amhara people congregate to sell their goods.

  • Overnight at Addis Ababa.

You may choose to end the tour here. 

DAY 13

Addis Ababa

  • Depending on your interest, you can have a rest day before your tour to the south.

DAY 14

Addis - Arbaminch

  • In the morning, drive to Arbaminch through the rift valley lakes.

  • On the way, visit Lake Zway which is rich in aquatic birds and Lake Langano.

  • Drive further to Alaba village and see their unique style of home decoration.

  • Overnight in hotel or lodge in Arbaminch.

DAY 15


  • In the morning, drive to Chencha village, to visit the Dorze ethnic group with their unique home-building style and traditional weaving. (Visit their market, if it is a market day).

  • Drive back to Arbaminch.

  • After lunch at the hotel, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to see crocodiles (at the Crocodile Market) and hippos.

  • Overnight at hotel or lodge in Arbaminch.

DAY 16


  • Drive to Jinka.

  • On the way, visit the Tsemay, Bena and the Ari ethnic groups with their untouched culture (if it is a Thursday, you can visit the colourful market of Key Afer).

  • Overnight in Jinka.

DAY 17

Jinka- Mursi- Jinka

  • After breakfast, drive to Mago National Park, proceed to the Mursi village where women wear lip plates.

  • Drive back to Jinka for lunch. 

  • After lunch, we visit the Ari village or the museum in town.

  • Overnight in Jinka.

DAY 18

Jinka -Turmi

  • After breakfast, drive to Turmi. 

  • On the way visit, the Tsemay ethnic group and the most colourful market in Omo Valley - Key Afer market, if it is Thursday. If it is a Tuesday, you can visit the Dimeka market.

  • Overnight lodge at Turmi.

DAY 19

Turmi – Murule – Turmi

  • In the morning, drive to Murule to visit the Karo Ethnic group who are very well known for their body painting and fascinating houses.

  • Drive back to Turmi for overnight.

  • Visit the market of Turmi, if it is a Monday or Market of Dimeka if it is a Tuesday.

  • Overnight lodge at Turmi.

DAY 20


  • Drive back to Arbaminch.

  • On your way, visit the Konso Village. The hard-working Konso tribe is known for their unique culture, especially their land management with terracing. 

  • Visit the Konso King's house and meet the king.

  • Drive about 100 km more to overnight in a hotel or lodge at Arbaminch.

DAY 21


  • Drive back to Addis through the Butajira Road and en route, visit Tiya Stale - a UNESCO world heritage site. 

  • Visit Adadi Mariam Church built during Lalibela's time and Melka Kuntrie Archeological Site.

  • Continue drive and enjoy a traditional dinner at one of the best Ethiopian restaurants.

  • Depart for home.
