  • Explore Alhambra, founded in the 13th century by the Nasrid dynasty, the last Muslim court to reign in Granada. Make your way to the Generalife Palace, which was the recreational residence of the sultans; the Alcazaba Fortress, built for defensive military purposes; the Palace of Charles V, a renaissance palace in the heart of this Islamic complex; and of course, the Nazari palaces, the center of the political administration of the kingdom and private quarters of the sultan.
  • Walk through the forest to reach Albaicin, or as many call it, the Arab quarter. This neighbourhood, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is the oldest neighbourhood in the city. Pass the narrow streets to feel like you are in an Arab medina. Learn about Moors and Christians, coexistence and forced conversions.
  • Find one of the most particular neighbourhoods of Andalusia, the Sacromonte. The origin of this place is not very clear, but it seems to be in the XVI century when Muslims and Jews were not welcome and moved to this peripheral area outside the wall. Learn how the gypsies of nomadic tradition gave birth to the most popular art form in Spain: Flamenco.
