Start from the vila of Serra, at the small market.
Enjoy the beauty of the lower gorge, the isolated houses, and the forested view of the opposite side of the Ribeira which has a lush oasis of mango trees and sugarcane.
Witness the locals coming and going, carrying water from the tank, maybe sugarcane or woods.
Descend slightly to the lowest part of the Ribeira where it ends for your transfer or refreshment break.
