- The Casablanca Valley is located between Santiago and Valparaiso. This is Chile’s youngest wine region. Winemakers just began planting vines a few decades ago in the 1980s. Because of its warm days and cool temperatures from the coastal air in the evening, this valley produces first-class crisp wines.
- Emiliana is the world’s largest organic winery! Founded in 1986 by the Guilisasti family, the winery grew rapidly over the last three decades. Today owns more than 800 hectares of certified organic vineyards in Chile’s most important wine regions, out of which they produce 580,000 cases of organic wine. Emiliana’s wines are exported to no less than 60 countries. The Guilisastis are one of Chile’s most influential winemaking families. Next to Emiliana Vineyards, they also own Concha y Tora, one of the country’s largest wineries.
- Do you like animals? If your answer is yes, visiting Emiliana will have an extra dose of fun for you. To maintain biodiversity, the presence and interaction of native animals are essential components of this process. The animals are the ones who give a warm welcome to visitors. Alpacas, peacocks, sheep, chickens; each posses its very own position and importance. During a walk through the vineyards, guests are given a short lecture about the variety of the grapevines, the terroir, and the valley's geography, which mainly favours the cultivation of green grapes. The tour will be followed by tasting their delicious wines and an opportunity to browse the wine shop.
- After lunch at another vineyard of your choice (not included), we will visit Bodegas RE, a small family vineyard. Here, they produce wine with a unique concept, which consists of recreating, reinventing and revealing beauty, complexity, structure, and innovation. The owners keep their ancestors' traditions and create noble wines in clay jars to show that they can create wines of excellence, combining these ancient procedures with current knowledge of viticulture and oenology.
