Take a step-by-step guide to meet a few talented artists & explore there dazzling array of paintings, and sculptures, all of which paint a striking picture of Cook Island's rich artwork.
DAY 01
Vibrant Artwork & Indulge in our Heritage
We begin our tour by visiting a local village in Muri - we awake our sight with exquisite vibrant artwork. It's amazing to see this displayed in the gallery.
We also visit another local artist who paints, sculptures, and does woodcarving in the village of Takitumu. He's so passionate about his work and it shows in his art.
Visitors often don't want to leave his workshop situated in a jungle. We take a well deserved break and I open up a Coconut Nu freshly made accommpanied with some light refreshments before we embark on the next journey.
We travel through the backroads of Rarotonga and pass the different types of banana, papaya & taro plantations. Than it's history in Muri.
We visit a new place situated in Muri - It holds alot of interesting facts of our Cook Island rich history, it will help you to understand a little more of who we are as a country and our past.
We venture off to another museum that holds many of the old artefacts dating back hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
See the wood exhibition - new and old, our Chief's from past to now, and our Vaka (Canoe) Journey to Rarotonga.
