Hamilton

Hamilton is a port city on the edge of the Greater Toronto Area, situated on Lake Ontario.  Sixty percent of Canada’s steel is produced in Hamilton, hence its sobriquet as the “Steel Capital of Canada”.  Industrial output aside, the city is fast gaining fame for its burgeoning arts scene and excellent quality of life.
The Niagara Escarpment runs through the middle of the city, bisecting the city into upper and lower areas. The 885km Bruce Trail runs the length of the escarpment, from Niagara Falls, through Hamilton and up to Tobermorey.  Hamilton is a big city with a country feeling and surprisingly has more than 100 waterfalls and cascades. The escarpment creates its own milder climate, thus conducive to fruit growing, the produce being available aplenty at Farmers Markets in the city.
There are many museums and memorials in Hamilton including the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Museum of Steel and Technology, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.  Your Hamilton Tour Guide may spook you into signing up for the popular Haunted Hamilton Ghost Walks for  a supernatural experience in the city.
