A truly authentic discovery of Montreal's neighbourhoods with your licensed Montreal Expert Guide. This tour is excellent for those who enjoy walking and using public transportation. The tour is ideal for couples, friends, girls' weekends, families, business travellers, and those attending conferences. Guests will discover neighbourhoods, vernacular architecture, private gardens, and laneways. As we crisscross Montreal's neighbourhood, guests will taste some of Montreal's icons and specialities. The tour is a true-to-life day in the life of a Montrealer. The tour covers many Montreal neighbourhoods and can be made entirely to measure. It combines very well with an old Montreal walking tour. The tour includes travel cards, all tastings and taxes for six guests. Please contact me if you are on a smaller group or solo travel. This tour and experience are sustainable, minimising the carbon footprint. All stops are owned, run and operated by local Montreal families. Please take note that plastic bags are no longer permitted. Please bring a bag should you wish to purchase goods and a refillable water bottle.

What's Included

  • The tour includes the services of an expert, experienced English-speaking Montreal Professional,  licensed guide by the city of Montreal as required by city law. G-2 Member of a professional organisation that requires membership for insurance coverage and annual professional training. She has been a professional licensed Montreal guide since 1992. (Please take note city of Montreal license only allows me to guide in the city of Montreal. She has no license to guide in Quebec City but can arrange for a colleague to conduct your private tour there)

  • Public transportation ticket good for 24 hours for 6 people

  • All tastings, taxes, and gratuities to local vendors throughout the tour

  • Concierge service once the tour is booked

What's Excluded

  • Vehicle if a driving tour ( from groups of 6 to 15, a sprinter is suggested, 16 to 20 mini coach)

  • The guide can drive and guide a group of less than 4. An SUV rental is extra, please contact me for quotes

  • Entrance fees

  • Lunch (there is enough food in tasting, highly unlikely you will want lunch)

  • However, if you can suggest a microbrewery

  • Drinks

  • water bottles ( in an effort to be sustainable, no plastic water bottles will be distributed)

  • Walking shoes (sandals are not recommended)
  • Hat, sunblock and sunglasses (April to November)
  • A reusable bag if you want to shop. We no longer give plastic bags, bottles of water, cash
  • Winter boots, mittens, winter socks, hats, scarf, winter coat, sweater (December to March)
Know before you go
  • The tour amount must be paid in advance.
  • All driving tours with a driver, motor coach, or sprinter must be booked in advance.
  • Sedans, sprinters, and motorcoaches (must be booked directly by guests due to insurance).
  • Driving tours are possible. A vehicle cost must be added with a maximum of4. 
  • This tour is available in Montreal only.
  • Do not offer tours in other Canadian cities.
  • Do not create itineraries, proposals for tours, or experiences outside Montreal.
  • Not a licensed travel agent, DMC, and do not have the required liability insurance to offer this service.
  • Do not book hotels or commercial transportation as I am not licensed or insured.

  • Tours of Ottawa must originate from Montreal. Day trips are possible with a driver and vehicle.

  • Accept last-minute bookings for other parts of Canada based on distance and costs.
