Bring your binoculars to magnify the wilderness along the adventurous game reserves and national parks of Botswana. Take a Mokoro along the Okavango Delta to explore its flora and fauna. 

DAY 01

GABORONE

  • Meet your Botswana safari guide at Sir Seretse International Airport. The guide will take you to your place of accommodation where you will stay for a night.

  • Get a briefing on your safari trip before the trip officially begins the next day.

DAY 02

KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY

  • Image title

    Pick up from your hotel and depart for Rhino Khama Sanctuary.

  • Stop at Palapye while on the way and pass through Serowe, one of the largest traditional villages in Botswana where the first president of Botswana, the late Sir Seretse Khama was born.

  • Visit Paje and Mabeleapodi on your way to Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a 4300 hectares reserve, located on the Kalahari sandveld with several natural waterholes.

  • Arrive at Khama Rhino Sanctuary and have lunch at your designated camping site. Your tour guide will show you your camping tents upon arrival.

  • Go for a siesta.

  • Enjoy the Rhino Tracking game drive conducted in an open 4x4 game viewing vehicle and spot a variety of animals. The sanctuary is home to other wildlife as well which has settled naturally or have been translocated. It is also the prime habitat for white rhino, zebras, blue wildebeest, giraffe, eland, springbok, impala, gemsbok, kudu, steenbok, duiker, red hartebeest, waterbuck, warthog, leopard, ostrich, African wild cat, caracal, small spotted genet, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, and brown hyena.

  • Take a game drive safari around the open grassland of Malema and Serowe pans.

  • Return to the camp after sunset and take rest.


DAY 03

CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE

    After breakfast, depart to Central Kalahari Game Reserve, which covers an area of 52,000 square kilometres. The region of vast open plains, salt pans and ancient riverbeds is home to large herds of springbok, gemsbok, Blue wildebeest, red hartebeest and the largest of all antelopes, the eland. Camp here for two nights.

  • Track the black-maned lion of the Kalahari, surviving in the harshest conditions and African wild dogs, cheetahs, brown hyenas following their prey in this untamed wilderness. 


DAY 04

CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE

    Head out in search of honey badgers and jackal whilst keeping a lookout for lion, cheetah and wild dog.

  • Return to camp for lunch, and a siesta.

  • Take a trip to the famous Deception Valley, where the book, ''Cry of the Kalahari'' was written. The valleys are a unique ecosystem within the Kalahari and one can expect to find large concentrations of springbok and gemsbok on the verdant beds of sweet desert grasses. Game viewing is best between December and April, when the animals tend to congregate in the pans and valleys, attracted to the area by the flush of sweet grasses that flourish in the ancient valley following the rains.

  • Spend your time exploring the Deception Pan and the Piper Pan area searching for other intriguing desert species.

  • Return to camp for dinner.

DAY 05

MAUN

  • Wake up to have breakfast before heading to Maun, the gateway to one of the best wildlife experiences you will ever have, a safari in the unforgettable Okavango Delta. A hub of the delta's safari industry, it is the southernmost part of the Delta and boasts a river tributary of the delta called the Thamalakane River.  

  • Stay in a lodge for a night.

  • Take a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta from Maun Airport at your own expense. Keep a lookout for hippos and crocodiles in the waterways. Observe how the water channels meander their way through the delta in ever-changing paths as this dynamic water system evolves. 

DAY 06

OKAVANGO DELTA

  • Wake up to prepare your small luggage for the Mokoro overnight trip in the Delta. 

  • After breakfast, depart to the Okavango Delta and meet your local tour guide.  

  • Arrive at the camp and get yourself served a tea.

  • Take a swim in the clear waters of the delta. 

  • Travel by mokoro which is undeniably the best way to experience the Okavango Delta and explore the waterways and take nature walks. Also, get an opportunity to track the game. Get a view of the spectacular birdlife, the flora and fauna that might go unnoticed.  

  • Camp in a remote campsite for one night.

  • Have dinner under the milky way starlit skies after which the guides and get entertained with cultural stories and traditional dances, animal tracking techniques and gathering methods for traditional medicinal purposes. Guests interested in astronomy will be treated to one of the most expansive displays of stars on earth, before retiring in cozy tents for the night and drifting off to the sounds of the wild.

DAY 07

OKAVANGO DELTA

DAY 08

MOREMI GAME RESERVE

    Depart to Moremi Game Reserve, widely considered as one of the finest wildlife reserves in Africa. It has a diversity of habitats combining acacia forests and mopane woodlands with floodplains and lagoons.

  • Visit Third Bridge, Bodumatau and Dead Tree Island. Sightsee different antelopes including red lechwe and the shy sitatunga, a web-footed antelope perfectly adapted to life in the swamps and Wild dogs.

  • Camp here for two nights.

DAY 09

MOREMI GAME RESERVE

    Take off for a game drive after lunch. 

  • Return before sunset.

DAY 10

SAVUTI

  • Image title

    Transfer to Savuti which is part of Chobe National Park. It is called Savuti because a certain chief called Sauté used to live there with his tribe. Tawny eagles can be seen soaring in the sky as you drive. Find umbrella thorn, acacia tortilis with giraffe feeding and many more including the most photographed bird, lilac-breasted roller, the national bird of Botswana.

  • Depart for a game drive at 3:30 pm to the beautiful Savuti marsh where vast herds of zebras and wildebeest can be seen and also an opportunity to see pairs of kori bastards which are the heaviest flying birds.

  • Return to the camp.

DAY 11

SAVUTI

  • Depart for a game drive to the Savuti marsh where you may get an opportunity to track cheetahs because of the vast open grassland, their most preferred habitat.

  • Spend some time under the baobab tree (adansonia digitata), an indigenous tree found in Africa. It is nicknamed the upside-down tree because the branches look like roots when it is dry.

  • Return to the camp.

DAY 12

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

    Wake up early to take a beautiful trip to the famous Chobe National Park with your tour guide. Get a glimpse of Mopane woodland and Acacia tortilis. Chobe National Park is mostly dominated by the Zimbabwe teak, which is very good for making furniture. On the way, you will see lots of animals until you get to Chobe enclave which incorporates five villages.

  • Take a game drive along the Chobe River and spot herds of buffaloes crossing to Sedudu Island, elephants, pods of hippos, and prides of lions.  

  • Return to the camp.

DAY 13

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

    Depart for the last game drive at Chobe and spot two antelopes rarely encountered elsewhere in Botswana - the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. The puku, with their shaggy orange-brown coats and V-shaped horns, can be spotted grazing the floodplains while the Chobe bushbuck is nocturnal and rarely forms groups of more than one pair. Both the puku and the bushbuck have a number of predators to contend with; from lion, hyena and leopard to African wild dog. 

  • At 3:00 pm, proceed for a boat cruise along the Chobe River.

  • Return to the campsite.

DAY 14

KASANE

  • Wake up to a light breakfast.

  • Transfer to Kasane International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
