Day 1: Paro to Thimphu expand_more
Upon arrival in Bhutan, clear immigration, customs and you will meet our representatives and be transferred to Thimphu, the capital city. Please note that you have to produce passport copies for an entry permit at the airport. There are no fees and photos needed for the permits.
Upon arrival in Thimphu, you may visit the National Memorial Stupa, Buddha Dordenma, Takin Preserve, Folk Heritage Museum and Tashichoedzong. You may do self-guided explorations in the city in the evening.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha expand_more
Drive east to Punakha, which can take about 3 hours.
En-route, stop for panoramic views of the Himalayan range from the Dochula Pass (El. 3,100 m).
Just before arriving at Punakha, we will take a short walk to Chimi Lhakhang (No-dog temple) through the rice fields and hamlets for an hour. There will be time in the evening to take self-guided walks from your hotel to nearby places.

Day 3: Punakha to Paro expand_more
Drive early from Punakha the same way back to Paro via the Dochula Pass and visit the Rinpung Dzong (fortress), the ruins of Drugyal Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang - the oldest temple.
Enjoy a pleasant stroll through the town in the evening.

Day 4: Paro expand_more
Start early, as we will have now covered more grounds on foot and well acclimated.
Hike to the Taktsang monastery or Tiger’s Nest which can take about 5 hours (both ways) on average, through pine and oak forests. The hike uphill is really worth it.
After the hike, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest Buddhist temple in the valley on the way back.
Overnight in Paro.

Day 5: Departure expand_more
After breakfast, drive to the airport for your return flight back home.

Some monasteries and temples may also remain closed for visitors, and certainly, the inner sanctuaries of these temples remain reserved for serious worships. Our guide will try their best to get you inside, but we cannot guarantee some of the visits.
