DAY 01

Dhaka arrival in the evening and overnight stay

  • Arrive by morning /evening flight.

  • After meet and greet, transfer to hotel for freshening up and then visit a few sites.

  • Overnight stay at Ambrosia Guest House in Dhanmondi.

DAY 02

Old Dhaka

  • Places we will visit in this trip- Sadarghat (River front), Armenian Church, Shankharia Bazar and Tanti Bazar (Hindu street), Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace), Star Mosque, Dhakeswari Hindu Temple, Lalbagh Fort, Curzon Hall (Dhaka University campus), Bongshal road, Liberation war Museum.

  • Overnight stay at Ambrosia Guest House in Dhanmondi.

DAY 03

Excursion to the First Capital of East Bengal- Sonargaon

  • Sonargaon was the country's first capital. In its prime time the ‘Golden City’ was also an important river port and the trading centre for the world-famous muslin cloth.

  • The remains of a number of mosques, tombs, stupas and a bridge in Panam Nagar and the well-maintained Folk Art Museum are well worth visiting.

  • Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

  • On the way back to Dhaka, we will make a stop in Nowapara; famous for the traditional Jamdanee weaving, you are welcome to visit the skilled weavers producing the intricate textile.

  • We may checkout some hotels in the town this afternoon if you agree.

  • Overnight stay at Ambrosia Guest House in Dhanmondi.

DAY 04

Drive Through beautiful landscape to Kurigram

  • Very early in the morning, around 6:30am start for Kurigram district (the northwest of Bangladesh) by reserved vehicle(7 hours). This is a very nice journey that lets you experience the different geographies of Bangladesh.

  • Arrive in Kurigram in the late afternoon and transfer to the best available local guest house run by an NGO.

  • Free time in the late afternoon to take some rest or walking around would be an option.

  • Overnight at either RDRS or Chinnamukul NGO Guest house, Kurigram.

DAY 05

Rural life on the bank of Brahmaputra River, Kurigram-Rangpur

  • After breakfast, drive to Chilmari to visit the Chars of the Brahmaputra River.

  • We will take a boat from Chilmari to visit some chars of Kurigram district along the Brahmaputra river near the Indian border and see how the river erosion, flood affect local people's life.

  • Chars are large sandbank islands that are isolated from mainland. In the late afternoon, we will drive to Rangpur.

  • Overnight at RDRS Guest House, Rangpur.

DAY 06

Explore Northern Bangladesh, Rangpur-Dinajpur

  • Today, we will explore the highlights of Rangpur & Dinajpur district, visit the Tajhat palace, one of the finest Rajbaris in Bangladesh, also the delightful Kali Mandir.

  • Later, visit Kantanagar temple, one of the most spectacular Terracotta Hindu temples in Bangladesh, built in 1752 by the famous Maharaja of Dinajpur.  Discover its fine and extensive terra-cotta work and the adjacent villages.

  • Overnight at RDRS Guest House.

DAY 07

Paharpur and Mahasthangarh Archaeological Sites

  • After breakfast, drive to Somapuri Vihara at Paharpur; the highest Buddhist stupa south of Himalaya, dated from 8th Century AD.

  • After having lunch at a local restaurant, drive to Oldest Hindu Capital; name Mahasthangarh, dating back from 3rd Century BC. There isn’t a lot to see, but the scale is impressive and the countryside is interesting to wander through. Although quite small, the site museum has some interesting Hindu and Buddhist pieces dating from the 6th to 13th Century AD.

  • Overnight at Hotel Naz Garden, Bogra.

DAY 08

Medieval Bengal, Explore Rajshahi

  • Leave the hotel after breakfast and drive to Rajshahi.

  • On the way, visit the Hindu Terracotta temples in Uthia.

  • Other places to visit in Rajshahi are the famous Varendra Research Museum, and the Sapura Silk producing centres.

  • In the afternoon, take a relaxing walk along the bank of the Padma river, the widest in Bangladesh.

  • Overnight at Hotel Nice International.

DAY 09

Rajshahi

  • There are also some indigenous communities residing in this area; such as Orao, Mahale, Shantal and Shaotal. Today, we will spend some time with these communities, visiting their village, pre-primary school to know how they are trying to keep their language and culture alive

  • In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural program performed by the indigenous community.

  • Drive to Rajshahi for overnight stay at Hotel Nice International.

DAY 10

Khulna and Otter fishing

  • Very early in the morning, around 6am start for Khulna.

  • Stop for breakfast at a road-side restaurant.

  • On the way to Khulna, experience the unique otter fishing in Narail.

  • Arrive at Khulna by 7:30 pm and proceed for overnight stay at Hotel Western-Inn.

DAY 11

Explore Sundarban, the magical mangrove forest by private boat

  • Leave the hotel by 6:30 am for boat (10 minutes by rickshaw), breakfast on board. 

  • After completion of the boarding the boat, we will begin the cruise to the south.

  • After a few hours of cruising the boat, we will stop at a forest station to complete formalities for necessary permission and also pick up armed forest guards to stay on board.

  • After that, we will resume the cruise and arrive at Kotka/Kochi khali forest station late in the afternoon and anchor for overnight stay.

  • If time permits, we will do some activities in the forest.

  • Overnight and all meals on board.

DAY 12

Sundarban-UNESCO world heritage site and home of Royal Bengal Tiger

  • Shortly after sunrise, explore the narrow creeks aboard a wooden rowboat, allowing a close look at the unique mangrove fauna & flora.

  • After a leisurely breakfast, you can indulge in a variety of activities, including an easy trek to the pristine beach facing the Bay of Bengal or a hike through the mangroves.

  • In the afternoon, there will be more activities for you.

  • Overnight and all meals on board.

DAY 13

Sundarban to Khulna

  • Depending on the tide situation, the boat will begin the return journey and cruise the whole day.

  • Arrive in Khulna in the evening.

  • Disembark the boat after dinner.

  • Transfer to hotel in Khulna for overnight stay. NB.

  • Please bring walking shows; there might be a walking trip through a little mud.

DAY 14

Exciting journey by boat from Borisal to Dhaka

  • This morning, we will drive (4 hrs) to Borisal.

  • On the way, we will stop by some archeological site; such as Historical sixty domed mosque (UNESCO world heritage site) and the mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali.

  • In the afternoon, walk along the market area and some interesting places of Borisal and take the overnight (8 pm) boat to Dhaka.

  • Arrive in Dhaka early in the morning (6/7am).

DAY 15

Dhaka - Chittagong - Bandarban the authentic tribal villages

  • Upon arrival from Borisal, have breakfast at a local restaurant in Old Dhaka and drive to the airport by reserve transport.

  • Take the morning (around 10 am) flight (40 minutes) for Chittagong and soon after arriving, you will be transferred (3hrs) to Bandarban by reserved vehicle.

  • After lunch at Hill Side resort restaurant, spend the lazy afternoon relaxing or two hours hiking to Hatibandha Tripura tribal village.

  • Overnight at Hillside Ecolodge Bandarban.

DAY 16

Shangi river cruise and tribal village visit

  • Today, go for a beautiful cruise up the Sangu River in a small wooden country boat to visit Tripura and Marma villages.

  • After lunch, visit the tribal cultural institute.

  • Explore Buddhist hilltop Jadi, Stupas and tribal Local Market.

  • Overnight at the Eco-lodge.

DAY 17

Short hike to Tripura village

  • Drive to Shoilopropat, Chimbuk Hill, Faruque Para (Bwam) tribal village and hike to Hati Bandha Tripura Tribal Village.

  • Drive to Chittagong for overnight stay at Aristos Hotel.

DAY 18

Local fish market, Karnafuli river cruise

  • After breakfast, a short interesting visit to the local fish market, cruise on Karnafuli River; and also visit the huge wooden fishing boat manufacturing place.

  • Then, catch the afternoon train to Dhaka and reach around 10pm.

  • Overnight in Dhaka.

DAY 19

Shopping, relaxing and preparing for next day morning flight to Home.

  • Explore the traditional shopping market areas and buy the local products.

DAY 20

Departure

  • Fly back home.
