Description

Discover the Barbadian architecture, cultures, local flora and fauna during this tour. Barbados is an eastern Caribbean island and an independent British Commonwealth nation. Bridgetown, the capital, is a cruise-ship port with colonial buildings. Around the island are beaches, botanical gardens, the Harrison’s Cave formation, and 17th-century plantation houses like St. Nicholas Abbey.

    • Begins at the Barbados Museum, located at the Garrison, housed in the former British Military Prison. The prison, whose upper section was built in 1817 and lower section in 1853, became the Barbados Museum and Historical Society's headquarters in 1930. 
    • Next up is the tour of Garrison Historic Area, Historic Bridgetown. During both the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the Garrison was the base and headquarters for members of the British West India Regiment in Barbados.     • Then, visit the sacred Newton Slave Burial Ground.

    • Afterwards, we go for a fun fishing lesson to the village in Bourne's Land, Oistins. The Silver Sands Beach Facility will be our rest stop.

    • Scenic adventure ride continues as we visit the countryside and later on relish traditional Barbadian lunch at the Lemon Arbor Bar in St. John. 

    • Following lunch, we drive through the free village of Sweet Bottom.

    • Finally, tour ends with a visit to the Gun Hill Signal Station, St. George is the largest and most important of the military outposts in Barbados, with military associations from at least 1697.
