Start a walking tour at the Residence square, with the Austrian tour guide through the Salzburg Christmas Market and learn how the market developed, find traditional gifts and crafts made in Austria. 

On the way to the Salzburger Dom, smell the Glühwein and hot potatoes or Gulasch from the food stands. 

Inside the Salzburger Dom, get historical information about the Dom and also see the nativity scene and the baptismal from Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Mohr who wrote the lyrics to Silent Night, Holy Night. Listen to some interesting historical facts about the nativity scene and the song Silent Night.

Continue the walk to St. Peters District to find a big Christmas wreath and a small hidden Christmas Market. Many Christmas concerts are performed at the Salzburg Festival Hall and most of the people show up in traditional Dirndls and Lederhosen.
