Description

Become a part of the Northwest of Argentina by visiting one of the main villages of this region, Cachi. Learn about the history of the town from colonial times, pass through the Valley of Lerma, and also explore the Cardones National Park.     • Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location in Salta and begin the day by visiting the towns in the Valley of Lerma, passing through Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril and Chicoana.
    • Access the Quebrada de Escoipe at the end of 40 km, a place of singular landscapes in terms of colours and geological formations of the pre-Andean orogeny. 
    • Move through Los Torreones and El Maray (1800 m), and the ascent to Piedra del Molino (3348 m) begins in only 22 km. Through the Cuesta del Obispo, the landscape transmutes, and on the way, you reach the Cardones National Park, the only high-altitude park in Argentina. 
    • Stop for photography in Mal Cante, Cuesta del Obispo, Valle Encantado, Piedra del Molino, and Recta Tin Tin.
    • Continue the journey through a desert area. You can eventually spot local fauna such as guanacos, wild donkeys, eagles etc.
    • Reach the Recta Tin Tin, where the aforementioned park and its vast population of cardones can be seen in its entire splendour.
    • Proceed to the town of Cachi. Cachi is located in the northern area of the Calchaquí Valley, at a height of 2200 m. It has a strong colonial imprint that is evident in its architecture. In this town, the visitor makes his first contact with the Calchaquí culture, its customs and traditions. Visit the archaeological museum, and you may take a lunch break (not included).
    • Return to Salta after visiting the town with the colonial characteristics of Chicoana in the afternoon.
